The optical unit consists of:

• a spherical optical lens; lens is made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), having high transparency and excellent optical purity. The lens is lighter than glass and resistant to ultraviolet radiation, which prevents the material from yellowing over time
• laser indicator, which is used to center the optical unit with the center of the headlight under test
• digital light meter, which measures the intensity of the light beam of the headlight under test and displays the value on an electronic board
• internal screen with graduated marking for control of cut-off edge of light beam of the tested light
• to align the optical unit in the horizontal plane, a bubble level is provided in the housing of the optical unit
• light beam reception intensity switch, which provides a quick change of settings when testing high and low beam headlights, as well as fog lights
• inner screen positioning flywheel allows adjusting the screen in accordance with the nominal inclination of the light beam of the test headlight
• 9 V battery, which makes the device autonomous.

The main functions of the NORDBERG NTF3

1. Measurement of luminous flux: can measure the intensity of light emitted by headlights in various modes (far, near, fog).
