Battery Charger with Starter 12/24V, 250A NORDBERG WSB450
The NORDBERG WSB450 intelligent battery charger is designed for servicing a wide range of car batteries of various vehicles in car service centers and service stations.
Functional
- Charges batteries and starts engines of various cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, etc. with battery capacity up to 650 A٠h.
Advantages
- Serves different types of batteries: STD, CA, MF, EFB, GEL, AGM.
- Power capacity of 2000 W in charge mode and 8000 W in starter mode.
- Maximum current in starter mode 250 A.
- New generation inverter to reduce current losses during charging.
- Ability to select the charging mode for a specific type of battery.
- The device has various protection functions: automatic disconnection after the end of charging, from overheating, from low input voltage, from short circuit, from connection in reverse polarity.
- The device is designed to minimize the possibility of sparking during operation.
Ease of use
- Allows charging several 12 V or 24 V batteries simultaneously
- In case of various malfunctions, the device signals them for timely elimination
- Transport wheels and a wide extendable handle for easy transportation
STD - (Standard flooded battery) is used to provide sufficient power to the vehicle's ignition system. It is mainly used in critical situations where the power is not enough to start the vehicle. These batteries are used to provide additional power especially when the electrical load of the vehicle exceeds the required limit.
CA (Сalcium)- This type of battery can only be charged with a charger that has a constant voltage.
MF – This is a fully MF (Maintenance-Free) class battery in a sealed case
EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) - Advanced liquid electrolyte battery technology for use in START-STOP vehicles.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) - Absorbent Glass Mat Technology. Advanced Dry Cell Battery Technology for cars with high energy consumption Start-Stop function.
Gel - Gel technology is similar to AGM, but the electrolyte is not absorbed by glass fiber, but is thickened with silica gel (SiO2). Not used in automobiles as starter batteries. They are used only as traction batteries.
Li-ion (Lithium-ion battery) - They have the highest energy density, high specific power and low self-discharge rate during storage. There is no conditionally called “memory effect”.
LiFePO (lithium iron phosphate) - batteries manufactured with this technology are used in a wide range of car models such as Toyota Prius C, Ford Fusion Hybrid, Tesla, Porsche and many others. These batteries are known for their compact size, light weight and high energy density.
Steps in the charging process
- Diagnosis: in this step, the device checks whether the battery is connected to the charger.
- Desulphation: a pulse charge takes place to remove sulphate.
- Soft start: the battery's ability to accept a charge is checked and the device charges the battery with a gradual increase in charging current.
- Main charge: the device charges at maximum current up to approximately 80% of the battery capacity
- Diagnostics: the battery is checked to see if it can hold a charge.
- Constant charging: the battery is charged with a continuously increasing voltage.
- Recovery: the voltage is increased in order to produce a controlled outgassing in the battery.
- Absorption: the battery is charged with a continuously decreasing current and maximum voltage.
- Diagnosis: the pzu checks whether the battery can hold a charge.
- Maintenance: the charger monitors the battery voltage and periodically applies a small current charge to the battery, thereby keeping the battery fully charged.
